Greenville Co, SC (7/21 update): Puppies, small dogs, MANY MANY more

PTS days are listed as “time up.” Please confirm the animal(s) you want ASAP. If you say “Let me know, I will take as last resort,” the animal is not considered confirmed and still may be PTS. We are extremely full and need to get these dogs out ASAP. Thanks!

Any animals listed as “O/S” are owner turn-ins and do not have to be held if we are full. They will be the 1st to be PTS when we run out of room.

Max is a 7 yr old cocker/peke mix. He has a cataract in one eye and he has seizures, but the owner has not taken him to the vet for that, so we don’t know why he has seizures. Max is about 18 lbs.O/S Can be PTS any time!

Squirly is a 2 yr old female beagle. She is sweet and about 22 lbs.
Her time will be up 7/22.

Kagser is a 3 month old border collie mix. He was turned in because he had coccidia and the owner couldn’t treat him for it.
He is about 20 lbs. O/S Can be PTS any time!

Bear is a 3 yr old cocker spaniel mix. She is 3 yrs old and is scared and shy but sweet. She is about 30 lbs. O/S Can be PTS any time!

Croc is a boxer mix, he is 8 months old. His time will be up 7/23. He is about 40 lbs.

Precious is a 2 yr old female chocolate lab. She is already spayed and was turned in because her family was moving. O/S. Can be PTS any time!

Cami is a plot hound mix, she is very sweet and only about 40 lbs. Her time will be up 7/22.

Showtime is a German shepherd mix. She is about 3 yrs old and is skinny at about 40 lbs. Her time will be up 7/22.

Andy is a yellow lab. He was turned in because he keeps leaving the yard. He is about 60 lbs. O/S Can be PTS any time!

Brianna is a spayed female 7 yr old black lab. She was turned in because she needs too much attention. O/S Can be PTS any time!

Ace is a 1 yr old Aussie mix. He is neutered and chipped already. He was turned in because his family was moving. O/S. Can be PTS any time!

Dude is an English bulldog/bassett mix. He is shy and will need some work to overcome his fears. He is not aggressive, just shy. He is about 60 lbs, very short and squat. His time is already up.

Saddle back is a 1 yr old blue heeler. She is a little shy, but is not aggressive. Her time will be up 7/23. She is about 35 lbs.

Flex is a shepherd mix. He is about 5 yrs old and is neutered and heartworm negative. He is thin and needs some groceries. He has one blue eye and his time will be up 7/26.

Macy is an 8 month old boxer mix. She has been hit by a car and is under our vet’s care. Her time will be up 7/24. She is about 40 and is sweet.

Jordie is a 1 eyed Chihuahua. He is about 5 yrs old and his time is already up. He is about 15 lbs and is a nice doggie!

These pups are mastiff mixes, we think. They are 8 wks old and have really big heads! They are about 18 lbs each at a very young age. They were owner turn ins because they had too many animals. O/S There are 4 pups! Can be PTS any time!

Rockbridge SPCA (6/16 Update): Beautiful CATS need help -- some there over a year!

Can anyone help even one cat at the Rockbridge SPCA? This rural Virginia shelter is grateful for any rescue help and really needs to move a couple of cats to rescue. Some of these have been at the shelter for over a year. Listed below are those cats that the shelter would love to send now, but there are more on the shelter website. KIKI is a cute female calico mix. She is around a year old and is great with people and other cats. Kiki has been at the shelter since 9/27/07!

NANCY ANN is a very pretty young female dilute calico mix. She is 1-2 years old and loves other cats. Nancy Ann has been at the shelter since 4/18/07!

SHYLA is a sweet female gray tabby, about 2 years old. She was shy when she first came to the shelter but has become much more outgoing. Shyla has been at the shelter since 5/24/07!

PADDY is a pretty young female tortoiseshell mix. She has a very soft coat, is good with other cats, and loves to be held. Paddy has been at the shelter since 2/16/07—she was just a little kitten!

SPARKLE is a striking young female long-haired calico mix. She loves people and other cats. Sparkle has been at the shelter since 5/30/07!

MELVIN is a friendly and playful neutered male tabby. He loves other cats and loves to watch the birds. He is about 2-3 years old. Melvin has been at the shelter since 6/22/07!

BLOSSOM is a pretty female gray tabby. She is about 2 years old and loves people and loves being held.

BIGFOOT is a sweet adult female dilute tortoiseshell mix, estimated around 5 years old. She got her name because of the extra toes on her front feet.

OZZIE M Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix, tricolor, 2 yrs, small

Ozzie is a 2 year old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix. He is a bundle of energy and is an escape artist. He is really quick and will dart out of any open door. He can also climb a fence. Anyone adopting Ozzie would need a fenced in yard with a high wooden fence. Ozzie also does not like cats. He is very loving toward people and wants nothing more than to be someone's beloved pet. He also likes his rubber toy and will follow it anywhere. Ozzie has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

EMMA F Wirehaired Fox Terrier, white w/some black speckles, 4 yrs, medium

Emma is a 4 year old Wire Fox Terrier. Her owner could no longer care for her and wanted her to find a loving, long-term home. Emma was in a foster home for 2 weeks until space became available at the RVSPCA. Emma is very loving and wants to be someone's constant companion. She loves to cuddle and would make a nice lap dog. She did well in foster care and is now ready for a home of her own. Emma has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

Petey's family turned him in to Animal Control because they were no longer able to care for him. He is an outgoing, affectionate dog who knows several tricks - including 'playing dead' when you point your finger at him and say "Bang!" He's anxiously waiting to find a new forever home. This animal is currently at the Regional Center for Animal Control and Protection and is in danger of euthanasia. Ingrid is a one year old shepherd mix. She has a beautiful face and a wonderful disposition. She likes to be outside, but doesn't seem to know what to do with toys. She would need to be taught how to play. Ingrid is a large dog and can be an escape artist. She would require an active household and a fenced yard. Ingrid has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

PRINCESS F Shepherd mix, black w/tan, 2 yrs, large
Princess is a two year old shepherd mix. She is a large dog with a lot of energy. Princess came to the RVSPCA with a broken leg. She had been hit by a car and her owner could not afford the medical care. He gave her up so she could find the loving home she deserves. Princess has not had much obedience training and would require someone with some knowledge of training. Princess has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her injury is completely healed and she's ready to go to the right home.

BONNIE F Hound mix, white/chocolate, 1-2 yrs, medium
Bonnie is a one year, seven month old hound mix. She has a brown and white coat with unique markings. She's a very nice dog and loves to be scratched behind the ears. She's also treat motivated and will be easy to train - just keep those treats at hand! Bonnie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Maybe some Pointer in there?

This is a middle aged female cocker/golden mix? She is currently in foster with the SPCA because there is no cage space.

SADIE F Lab mix, brindle/white, 5 mos
This is a 5 month old mix puppy that was adopted from the SPCA as a puppy and now has been returned because she supposedly does not get along with kids. She was previously in a foster home with children, so besides being an active dog and needing some more manners, she should be fine with a family. Currently we just don't have space to bring her back into the SPCA! Sadie is now in an SPCA foster home. She still needs a permanent home though!

DIXIE F Hound, tricolor, 4 yrs, large
Dixie is a four year old tri-colored hound. She is hesitant when first meeting people, but will warm up with time and patience. Dixie does not like to share her food and treats and would need to be the only dog in the household. She would do best in a household with no small children. Dixie has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

MICKEY M Beagle/Shepherd mix, tricolor, 5 yrs
Mickey is a five year old Beagle mix. He came to the RVSPCA as a stray. He is a very sweet boy, with lots of energy. Mickey is quite a jumper and can easily hop over the door of his kennel is the top portion is left unlatched. It's easy to see how Mickey got lost from his owners. He would definitely require a fenced in yard and lots of supervision. Mickey has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If he is ever lost again, he will be able to find his way home.

GIGI F Border Collie mix, black/white, young, medium
Gigi was abandoned by her owner. Maybe because she was expecting. She gave birth to four adorable puppies. Gigi and her babies have been in foster care and are now ready for a home of their own. Gigi is a very pretty Border Collie mix. She has the softest fur imaginable and a nature to match. But like all Border Collies, she has lots of energy and needs to keep busy. She knows basic commands such as sit, stay, down, come and shake. She is very intelligent and would benefit from further training. Gigi has been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Someone please give her the loving home she deserves!

HUGO M Pit mix, fawn, 1 yr, 35 lbs
Mr. Hugo...a.k.a. "Smiley"...is waiting for a new loving home. This handsome guy was found as a stray & needs some TLC. Hugo is a 1 year old Pit Bull and Beagle mix. At 35 pounds, you could say Hugo is just the right size. Hugo has been neutered fully vaccinated (including Rabies) and microchipped. He is waiting to meet his new family. Hugo was adopted but returned to the shelter when his owner couldn't take care of him any longer. Won't someone give this special fellow the home he deserves???
