Franklin Co, VA (6/25 update): Beautiful dogs in temp fosters need help ASAP! Beagle x, Black & Tan Coonhound x, MORE

The following dogs have been pulled from the Franklin County animal shelter into temporary foster homes and boarding after they ran out of time at the shelter. They need to find rescue ASAP, not only so they can find homes but so the next out of time dogs at the shelter can be pulled. BANDIT is a beautiful black and white adult NEUTERED male Australian Shepherd (mix?) who lost his owner in January and is hoping for a new family. He is very sweet and is housebroken and good with cats. He can be a little funny with other dogs but responds to a correction and isn’t bad about it. He loves nothing more than snuggling!

BARNEY is a cute tricolor NEUTERED male Beagle mix. He is a wonderful boy who gets along with everyone and would love a new home with another dog. He is not a barker.

**RESCUE PENDING** BRYAN is a gorgeous NEUTERED tricolor male Australian Shepherd mix. He has a medium coat and weighs about 40 lbs. He is a friendly boy who is good with other animals.

BUBBA is the cutest sable and white NEUTERED male Bernese Mountain Dog/Basset Hound mix (or something!). You have to take a look… if you want a unique dog… here’s your guy! He is good with dogs and cats and is housebroken. Poor Bubba lost his owner in January and would love to find a new family. He’s a sweet boy who loves attention.

CARMEN is a lovely tricolor SPAYED female Hound. She is a little shy but is sweet. She is working on her leash training and is ok in a crate but is housebroken. She stops barking when asked (a mist bottle or dropping a metal dish works great!) and being a typical Hound she’s probably happiest living with another dog. She pays no attention to cats.

Sweet JOE is a real volunteer favorite! He is an 8 year old black and white male NEUTERED Dalmatian (mix?) who was dumped at the shelter by his owners. He is BLIND. He is not recommended with kids under age 12 but is a sweet older boy who deserves another chance. He loves to carry his food bowl around.

KYLE is an absolutely adorable 4 month old NEUTERED red Redbone Coonhound mix. He’s super sweet and is growing up in his foster home… he really needs a family of his own! He loves to lay on the front porch or sleep in your lap and is learning to sit and shake. He’s good with other dogs and is getting used to cats. He’s a laid back cutie!

LOTTI is a sweet SPAYED tricolor female Treeing Walker Coonhound. She weighs about 55 lbs and was rescued from the shelter with a terrible case of mastitis. She is recovering well and looking for a new home. Look at that pretty face!

MAX is a handsome NEUTERED black and tan male Black & Tan Coonhound mix. He is extremely sweet despite whatever happened to give him a scar down his back. He is good with other dogs. Look at those eyes!

NIKKI is a shy black and tan SPAYED 1 yr old female Shepherd mix. She is a sweet girl who just needs some patience until she trusts you. She is unsure around other dogs but with some time will also learn that they mean her no harm.

RASCAL is a gorgeous dark merle NEUTERED male Australian Shepherd mix. His owner passed away in January and he’s hoping for another chance! He is a little shy but is very loving. He loves to curl up beside his foster parents and put his head in their laps. He is good with dogs and cats.

TIRA is a beautiful SPAYED female Lab mix. She is black with a white chest and gorgeous blue eyes. She loves to play and is housebroken. She would do best in a foster home situation. She was initially not good with other dogs but through work with a trainer she’s learned to get along with them.

WATSON is a handsome NEUTERED tricolor male Treeing Walker Coonhound. He’s a sweet boy who is good with other dogs.

There are also several CATS needing help:

DUCHESS is a sweet SPAYED long haired female Tabby cat who weighs about 8 lbs. She is a wonderful girl who loves nothing more than to sleep, eat, and love on you. She is good with kids and is very friendly. Duchess showed up as a stray at a volunteer’s home and was so matted that she had to be shaved.

MONICA is a tiny little 6 lb black and white medium haired SPAYED female cat. She is a survivor… when she was rescued she had hardly any hair and was a walking skeleton. Now she’s filling out nicely and is looking for a home. Despite all she’s been for she’s a sweet girl!

NAOMI is a beautiful orange tabby SPAYED female shorthaired cat who was rescued from the shelter with her sister. Her sister found a home… now it is Naomi’s turn! She weighs 6 lbs and is a sweet girl.

VENUS F Shepherd/Shar Pei mix, tan w/white, ~2 yrs, 40 lbs

Beautiful girl who needs to get out of her current foster ASAP. Venus has one blue eye and one brown eye. Very submissive but gets along very well with other dogs. She is very shy at first but once she trusts you she loves attention! Venus was an abuse case and sat at the shelter for NINE months waiting for the conviction of her abuser. She was pulled when she was available (and could have been euthanized) but her foster home has not turned out to be a good one for her and she really needs to get to rescue soon!

CASEY F Redbone Coonhound/Lab mix, red w/little white, adult, large - SPAYED

This gorgeous girl was pulled from the shelter on her last day and is now hoping to find a rescue so she can find a forever home. She is beautiful, sweet and loves to run and play.

WYATT M Lab/Vizsla mix, tan w/white, adult, large - NEUTERED

What a striking boy! Wyatt is well mannered and playful and was rescued from the shelter when his time ran out. He's hoping that a rescue will help him find his forever home soon. He is good with dogs and cats and is housebroken.

MISS NIBBLES F DSH calico, adult - SPAYED

Miss Nibbles is a sweet and affectionate girl who sometimes... nibbles... when she's showing affection. She loves cats and dogs and is a sweetheart!

MISS TORT F DSH tortoiseshell, adult - SPAYED

What gorgeous markings on this girl! Miss Tort was rescued from the shelter on her last day and is now hoping for rescue so she can find a home. She is very sweet and loving.
